Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Health Economics

This is a 2-year grant funded position. There is a possibility of an additional year contingent on securing additional funding.
A two-year postdoctoral fellowship is available at Centre de recherche du CHUS, affiliated to the Université de Sherbrooke. The fellow will work with Pr. Thomas Poder to contribute research on the valuation of health utilities for QALY (quality-adjusted life year). The goal of this project is to compare different elicitation methods for utilities associated to various health states in order to estimate QALYs. The candidate will use a database of 2400 completed questionnaires using an ordinary standard gamble (SG) (N=600), a MBDC-SG (N=600), a discrete choice experiment (DCE) with time duration (N=400), a DCE with time duration and probability of dying (N=400), and a DCE with duration and immediate death (N=400). Also the candidate will collaborate to estimate the WTP for a QALY in Quebec and conduct a survey using time trade-off (TTO) and DCE (N=1500).
Conduct research; develop code for econometric models; collaborate in authorship of research papers.
Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in Economics or closely allied fields of study prior to employment. Applicants must also possess evidence of ability to conduct research and publish research results.
Demonstrates experience in one or more of the following domains:
Strong programming capabilities (e.g., Matlab, Stata, R, Python, etc.)
Proficiency in econometric and statistical modeling
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French or English
Ability to work well in disciplinary and interdisciplinary teams
